Absentee Voting

GENERAL INFORMATION

The State of Delaware permits persons who are registered to vote and who are unable to go to their polling place on the day of an election for a reason stated in the Delaware Code may vote by Absentee Ballot. People desiring to vote by Absentee Ballot must submit a properly completed affidavit to the Department of Elections for the county in which they are domiciled. Persons may obtain an Affidavit for Absentee Ballot from the Department of Elections for New Castle County by calling (302)577.3464, by e-mail, by FAX at (302)577.6545, or by downloading the appropriate affidavit it and the accompanying Social Security Number Disclaimer. The Department's Absentee Voting Information Sheet provides information about the Absentee Voting process.

Military personnel, their dependents and overseas citizens whose domicile is New Castle County, Delaware may register to vote and/or apply for an absentee ballot by completing a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA)pdf icon and mailing it to the Department of Elections for New Castle County, 820 N French Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, or by faxing it to (302).577.6545. Vote in person. People may vote in person at the Department of Elections for New Castle County for the 2008 Presidential Primary beginning Friday, December 28, 2008.

Mondays 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m Closed on January 21, 2008. Close at 12 Noon on February 4, 2008
Tuesdays 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Open until 7 p.m. on January 15, 22 and 29.
Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Open until 7 p.m. on January 16, 23 and 30.
Thursdays 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Closed January 17 due to weather. Open until 7 p.m. on January 24 and 31.
Fridays 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m  
Saturdays 9 a.m. until 12 Noon Closed on January 19. Open on January 26 and February 2.
