GENERAL INFORMATION
Persons who want to vote by absentee ballot must be registered to vote in their state, apply for the absentee ballot and return the ballot to the appropriate offical before their state's deadline. This page has links to information about absentee voting in all states, the District of Columbia and some territories.
The Federal Voting Assistance Program's Voting Assistance Guide has information about absentee voting in each state. The information is for military and overseas citizen voters, but may be useful to the public. The forms and procedures, however, may not apply to the general public.
